The South Dakota Vietnam War Memorial Dedication is solely funded by private donations from individuals, companies, and corporations.  The fundraising goal is $1.3 million before September 2006.  Contributions will be used for all the costs associated with the dedication to be held on September 15 and 16, 2006.  Any funds which remain after the dedication will be deposited in a fund for the perpetual care and maintenance of the South Dakota veterans memorial site in Pierre, as well as the preservation of historical information about South Dakotans in the Vietnam War.  The memorial will stand forever on the South Dakota Capitol grounds as a testament to the valor and sacrifice of our South Dakota Vietnam Veterans.
