
During the month of September,
in addition to the Vietnam War Memorial Dedication, there
are a few
other Vietnam-related events happening in the Pierre area:
CULTURAL HERITAGE
CENTER
The
Cultural Heritage Center will be open
9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both Friday
and Saturday, September 15 and 16, and 1 - 4:30 p.m. on
Sunday, September 17. There will be free admission
all three days.
The South Dakota State Historical
Society will be holding two public programs focusing on
Vietnam this September to complement the dedication of the
memorial.

"Vietnam . . . So Long Ago . . . Yesterday"
presented by Douglas Callahan of Sioux Falls
Sunday September 17 2:00 p.m. Cultural Heritage Center
"The U.S. Army Vietnam Combat Art Program"
presented by Jim Pollock of Pierre and Steve Randall of Sioux
Falls; both worked
as artists in the program
In addition, artwork from the U.S. Army
Vietnam Combat Art program by both Pollock and Randall will be
on exhibit in the Education Room of the Cultural Heritage Center
from September 2006 to February 2007.
